DesignWorks vs. Celebrity Event: Southern Charm Meets Old World Romance
Hearts broke around the world when fans heard the news of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds tying the knot on a beautiful September day in old world charming Charleston, South Carolina. Our broken hearts quickly turned to swooning ones when we heard of the wedding details as old world romance met southern charm in this week’s Celebrity Event vs. DW Event Breakdown.
The Gossip Girl star carried a lush bouquet filled with andromeda, pink jasmine, dusty miller, and blushing bride hydrangea. Select petals were dipped in a gold glitter to complement the bride’s gold embellishments on her Marchesa ball gown.
Besides winning the title “World’s Most Desirable Woman”, numerous TV Choice awards and nominated for countless others, in her rare spare time, Blake Lively is an avid baker, and a good one at that! Her love for sweets shined bright on her special day with vanilla-and-sour-cream wedding cake with peach-apricot preserves and Earl Grey-milk chocolate buttercream created by talented Maggie Austin Cake was joined by many bite sized treats such as s’mores, coffee and cream espresso beans, mini tarts, fruit jellies and one bite strawberry shortcakes. *Sigh* oh to be in that taste testing session…
Here is a fabulous DW designed cart filled with desserts and florals. The rustic charming style is comparable to Blakyn, Rake, Ryake… Okay we are still working on their celebrity couple nickname, regardless; our fabulous cart design would have been a great alternative for a southern charm treat station.
Check out a DW designed tablescape that would have paired perfectly with the duo’s wedding style. The rustic farm tables (similar to the ones for their dessert table) with moss and wildflowers dance down the center of each table add to the old world theme.
There really isn’t anything we at DW could nitpick about this fabulous soirée except that we weren’t invited! Where’s the love Ryan & Blake?
Happy designing DW fans!
